Yesterday...

Big day... hired a driver 1500rmb to drive us out to Tong Li. This is a small canal town which is now a bustling tourist area. You buy a ticket 80rmb for various sights (there are other values.. lucky we bought one of the cheaper tickets - there are things to clip off every time you want to go into something (an ancient house eg), so there were about 8 of those on our tickets but we only got to 2 things.

Lots of photos of course.

Each place is huge - you go in and there are rooms and corridors, courtyards and gardens everywhere.

Of course, many fine bridges and doorways as usual.

We drove back and got him to drop us off at Yu Gardens which cost 40rmb to go into. We only have 1 hour to do that in and I think we didn't cover all of it, maybe 2/3. It was extremely pretty and not filled with any souvenir touts. Lots of gardens, statues, caves, bridges, towers.

Finally had our 'first' meal of the day (Din Tai Fung again) at Yu Gardens.

Then shopped at Uni Qlo for t shirts.
